, Jakarta - The chicken egg price was monitored to increase in Jakarta and even surpassed the state average price ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The Clientele Ministry’s Market and Basic Needs Monitoring System recorded that the commodity stamp in the capital reaches Rp29,372 per kilogram as of currently, November 28, 2022, while the average national price is Rp29,300 per kilogram.
Although the state price set by the National Food Agency for chicken eggs at Rp27,000 per kilogram, the national commodity price increased by 2.45 percent or Rp700 per kilogram above November 2022.
Papua Records the Highest Egg Prices
The Clientele Ministry reported that the highest price for chicken eggs is in Papua at Rp39733, followed by North Kalimantan at Rp37,000 and Maluku at Rp34,017 per kilogram.
The lowest stamp of chicken is in South Sulawesi at Rp25,517, followed by Bengkulu and South Sumatra at Rp25,800 and Rp25,625 per kilogram, respectively.
In Java, the highest egg stamp is in Yogyakarta at Rp29,375, followed by West Java at Rp29,345 per kilogram.
Other than eggs, chicken meat prices have also gone up. On a state average, the commodity price is now at Rp34,700 per kilogram, or an increase of Rp900 throughout November 2022.
Meanwhile, based on the Jakarta Food Info at 08:00 local time, the requires price of chicken eggs in the city’s market has earnt Rp29,372 per kilogram, while chicken meat has reached Rp38,444 per head.
Eggs are the Main Contributor to Inflation
On Sunday, November 27, Bank Indonesia (BI) said inflation had increased by 0.18 percent in a month (month to month/mtm). Head of the BI Communication Department Erwin Haryono said that chicken eggs and tomatoes were beside the primary commodities that contributed to the inflation rate in the fourth week of November 2022 with 0.03 percent (mtm) each.
