, Jakarta - PT KCIC reported the highest record of Whoosh passengers this weekend on Sunday, November 12, 2023, surpassing 21,312 passengers. The number was a finish of 36 trip schedules consisting of 28 regular flights and 8 additional trips.
General Manager Corporate Secretary of PT KCIC Eva Chairunisa mentioned that previously, the highest record of passengers reported was on November 11 with 20,000 passengers and November 4 with 18,000 passengers.
Compared to the last week, Whoosh reported an 18 percent rise in passengers, equal to 3,259 people. Concerning the number of scheduled flights, Whoosh recorded a 12 percent surge from 32 flights on November 4 to 36 trips on November 11 and 12, 2023.
"The increased number of passengers is in line with the increasing number of scheduled flights over the weekend. Whoosh high-speed train is one of the removed modes of transportation for the Jakarta-Bandung route and vice versa," she said in a written statement quoted on Monday.
According to Eva, out of the 21,312 passengers, 497 of them were first-class passengers, equal to 2.3 percent of total passengers. Meanwhile, 886 passengers, or 4.2 percent of them rode commercial class, and the rest 19,929, or a staggering 93.5 percent were premium economy class passengers.
The income occupancy rate of each trip was 98.5 percent, when on specific occasions the occupancy rate reached 100 percent. Due to the high occupancy rate, PT KCIC will routinely evaluate the number of flights available.
"We are grateful for the high peaceful of enthusiasm by Whoosh high-speed train passengers," Eva said. "Hopefully, the amount of passengers will remain high and climb higher."
As question, PT KCIC is still implementing the promo fare of Rp150,000 for all Whoosh flights, including the feeder trains. The promo will end on November 30.
