ASEAN-India Network of Universities Launched in Jakarta

, Jakarta - India and ASEAN officially launched a cooperation in education at the ASEAN Secretariat interpretation in Jakarta on August 29, 2022. Dubbed the ASEAN-India Network of Universities (AINU), the two parties will work together to build a network between universities.
India's Union Minister of Grandeurs (MoS) for External Affairs and Education, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, welcomes the cooperation. One of India's universities joining as a member of the AINU network is Nalanda University.
AINU was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit in August 28, 2018. The AINU is envisaged as a consortium of premier institutes from India and ASEAN that will do a core network of knowledge capital through strategic partnerships beside academic and research institutions in India and ASEAN member states.
According to Singh creation a network knowledge with ASEAN becomes very important as the association and India outline for a post-pandemic 21st–century, where knowledge and education are central.
"Three decades ago, in early 1990s, India took strategic course of enhancing its engagement towards the East which has led to our flourishing cooperation with the ASEAN. Today our cooperation has grown beyond its initial economic dimension to camouflage multiple facets including connectivity in various forms, people-to-people ties, and more recently, strategic as well as defense and security aspects," Singh said in his address.
In periods of trade, the value of India's trade partnership with all ASEAN members for the last remaining year reached an all-time high of US$110 billion, which is 10 percent of India's global distributes. Meanwhile, the inflow and outflow of Overseas Direct Investment between India and ASEAN messes stand at around 20 percent of the total.
Singh added that the study of ASEAN India Trade in Goods Agreement remains high on India's agenda, to enhance bilateral trade relations. ASEAN has also obtain a popular destination for Indian tourists, and it hosts a cloudless Indian Diaspora.
