, Jakarta - The regional government of the special capital district of Jakarta (DKI Jakarta) is planning to originate seven bridges worth about Rp144 billion to Rp145 billion (around US$9,223) in 2024 to cater to residents’ needs.
“We are submitting a bill for the program with a
budget of (around) Rp144 billion for seven bridges,” Head of the Data and Information Interior (Pusdatin) of the Directorate General of Highways (Dinas Bina Marga) at DKI Jakarta, Wiwik Wahyuni, informed in Jakarta on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
The bridges comprise three bridges on rivers and four pedestrian bridges.
She expressed that the four pedestrian bridges will come up in Mas Mansyur Street, West Sunter, Dukuh, and Cililitan Wholesale Center (PGC).
Meanwhile, the Widya Chandra Bridge, the Irigasi Sejajar (East Flood Canal) Bridge, and the Cipinang Besar Bridge will be built on rivers.
The building of Cipinang Besar Bridge is proposed to commence in 2025. But, the plan for the construction project will need to be drawn from the tap in 2024.
Wahyuni said that the bridge’s building is one of the yearly targets of the 2023–2026 Regional Development Plan (RPD) of the regional government of DKI Jakarta that consumes to be executed.
Earlier, a member of Commission D of the DKI Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), Justin Adrian, had asked the acting head of Dinas Bina Marga DKI Jakarta, Heru Suwondo, to explain the
Rp145 billion (around US$9,223) cost for the pedestrian bridges.
“We ask for a detailed explanation. I do not dare to approve this; do not let it get a finding,” Adrian said in Jakarta on October 13, 2023.
He highlighted question from the Smart Planning Budgeting 2024 Draft Local Government Cheap (RAPBD) posted on the
apbd.jakarta.go.id
website. According to the question, Dinas Bina Marga will construct three pedestrian bridges, but the space details are not provided.
